Great Basin National Park, Nevada

The trail to Wheeler Peak, at 13,063 ft (3,982 m) the highest mountain entirely within the State of Nevada, begins at 10,000 ft (3,049 m) and passes through aspen groves and conifer forests before emerging from the upper treeline about 2,000 ft (609 m) below the summit.
